Shaquayla Johnson Salon

Beauty has always been a passion of mine, especially hair. Since I was a young girl, I always imagined having my own beauty salon. During my sophomore year in college, I realized that I did not want to continue my degree in psychology. In fact, going to college was not my dream but the dream of my mother. I realized that my true passion was hair and that I wanted to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a salon owner.

Two years later, I made the attempt to enroll in beauty school, but because of my student loans that were taken out for my undergraduate Unfortunately, I was not able to get funding for the program. Several years went by, and I made other attempts to enroll in beauty school, but the outcome was still the same. I would have to pay out of pocket, and I was not financially able to do that.

In 2018, I was finally able to enroll in beauty school and fulfill my dream. 18 months later, I finished my program and became a licensed cosmologist. Since becoming a cosmologist, I have moved on to opening my own salon suite. Which was in operation for two years before I moved into my own storefront salon.

My dream came true, and I am living my purpose. Making a living by doing what's most passionate to me. Every day is a fun and exciting day with my amazing clients. Being able to operate daily doing what I love and making each of my clients feel like the best version of themselves means so much to me. Creating this business and being an entrepreneur is the best thing I have done for myself thus far.
